Comment Policy

We want you to feel at home when you post a comment on A Couple of Catholics. We don’t know what your home is like, but we know how we expect people to behave when they visit ours.

Our No. 1 house rule is simple: Don’t be a jerk.

As people, we already spend too much time tearing each other down and competing with one another. This is not the place for harsh criticisms or negativity. We are in this together. And while we welcome ideas from readers of all walks of life, we simply ask that those ideas be expressed with respect for one another and a little (or, if the situation warrants, BIG) drop of grace. All that being said, this is why we reserve the right to delete comments and ban users as needed to keep the comment threads here civil and substantive.

Disclosure Policy

In 2009, our friends at the Federal Trade Commission {FTC} revised their guidelines regarding endorsements and testimonials in order to protect the public from any intentionally errant or misleading advertising that has been paid for by a group or company. This blog uses various forms of advertising and revenue generation (we have kids and they tend to want to eat food, and that costs money). Since this blog is a source of income and may occasionally incorporate endorsements or testimonials, we felt it was important to disclose the following to you, our readers:

  • In full disclosure, A Couple Catholics are participants in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and other affiliate programs. Basically, these are advertising programs designed to help creators like us earn fees by promoting other goods and services. So if you click one of our affiliate links and buy something, we get paid. For this, we thank you.
  • Having said that, we strive to only promote things we truly believe in, use ourselves and/or that we feel will be beneficial to our readers.
  • Products provided to us by our advertising partners for our review are given to us free of charge with no cost to ourselves. This does not ensure a positive review of the product in any way.
  • You can trust us. We will always give our genuine opinion about a product or service whether or not we are partnering with the service provider and/or receiving payment to do so.
  • Our number one priority is accuracy and fairness to our readers, and we would never compromise the truth just to make a buck. Ever.
  • Mentions of associated products/services/businesses within the content of our blog may or may not be noted as an affiliate in every reference.

We hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity and strive to deliver interesting, helpful, and encouraging content while generating a small profit to compensate us for our time, research, and ideas. We love and appreciate our readers and make it our goal to be up front and honest with every post we write.
